Ironclad Vanilla

A community-focused, forever-world semi-vanilla SMP. Launched October 2018. Whitelisted. Java + Bedrock crossplay.

Ironclad Vanilla is a tight-knit SMP built around one idea: vanilla gameplay, preserved and elevated. No spawned items. No duped items. No cheating. Every resource is gathered legitimately, every build raised by hand, and every command that offers a personal benefit has an in-game cost. It is vanilla as it was meant to be played, with the quality-of-life and community features that turn a server into a home.

A Player-Built World

Spawn is the heart of Ironclad, and it is built entirely by the community. Players construct civic infrastructure such as banks, post offices, courthouses, trading posts, and more. Around those civic buildings, players open their own shops using a diamond-based economy, creating sprawling, lived-in cities shaped by dozens of hands.

Not every player is a master builder, and that is part of the point. With guidance and collaboration from the community, a blend of styles and skill levels comes together into something that could only exist here. Every spawn we build looks uniquely Ironclad.

Every year or two, we relocate spawn so the current generation of players gets to shape a new city from the ground up. We are currently on our fifth spawn, Ember Valley, following Riverside(1st), New Haven(2nd), Birchcreek(3rd), and Hillcrest(4th).

A Living Community

Over 7+ years, more than 5,000 unique players have joined Ironclad. The group is always evolving. We think of eras in terms of generations, each one tied to the spawn that was active when they joined. Players come, players go, new players arrive, but the core sense of community never fades. Dedicated long-time members carry the culture forward, and new players shape what comes next. It's always fun when a old player will return after sometimes a years long hiatus to find all of their stuff right where they left it.

Features of the Community

• Social Systems. Add friends, start group chats, and team up on friend-group or server-wide community quests, projects, and adventures!
• Quests. Progression goals that reward you for playing the game.
• Tournaments. Daily, weekly, and monthly server-wide tournaments with rewards.
• Player and staff-hosted events. Regular events that bring the whole server together.
• Earnable Cash Economy. In-game money comes from playtime, voting, quests, tournaments, and more. We offset the use of commands on the server by charging for their use. This keeps things balanced between an ease of life for players while preventing their abuse.
• Diamond Economy. Player managed shops are built in various spawns, using the manual diamond economy. We operate on a trust system among the community. No Shop plugins to mess with. All thieves are tracked and handled
• Quality-of-life fixes. Such as improved ghast controls and other subtle refinements that enhance your without breaking vanilla balance.

Ironclad runs on a high-end dedicated server powered by Folia for top-tier performance at scale. Behind the server is a dedicated staff team with 50+ years of combined moderation experience on Ironclad.
